James “Hoss” Takeshi Takiue, 48, of Hilo died June 1, 2013, at Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama Facility. Born in Roswell, N.M., he was a tour bus driver for Polynesia Adventure Tours and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hilo Jaycees, Fil-Am Golf Club and Ball & Chain Bowling League.
Friends may call at 5 p.m. June 19 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 7 p.m. service. Cremation follows. Friends may call again at 9 a.m. June 21 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo for a 10 a.m. Mass. Family requests casual attire be worn.
He is survived by wife, Christine Castillo-Takiue of Hilo; sons, Bryson (Kennalyn Amaral-Wilson) Arquitola-Takiue and James Takiue, both of Hilo; daughters, Latasha (Guy Silva) Gallegos and Sierra Takiue, both of Hilo; mother, Joyce Takiue of Hilo; brothers, Darren Takiue and Lesley Takiue, both of Hilo; sister, Traci (Aaron) Kanaeholo) of Hilo; three grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
